Accessibility

This is the official accessibility declaration of navigabile.it . The whole staff of navigabile works every day to guarantee the adaptation to the standard you find in succession. We are conscious that everything is improvable, so please send us at any time any kind of suggestions and observations by e-mail to: segreteria@fondazioneaccenture.it

Adoption to the standard

  • The Web Accessibility Initiative(WAI) the accessibility of the sites based on a level of compatibility with the guideline Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) allotting respectively the level A if they respect the requisites of priority 1 AA for the priority 1 and 2, AAA for 1,2 and 3.

  • All the pages of the site are approved by Bobby with the level AAA, respecting the priority 1, 2 and 3 defined in the WCAG 1.0 of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), but with some devices recommended in the version Draft 2.0 of December the 9th, 2003. La WCAG 2.0 explicates most, compared to the previous version, the devices dedicate to the people with motion and communicative handicap, proposing the introduction of images for textual support, the production of non-complex texts, the realisation of maximum number of instruments to make it easier to surf, etc..
    A website is considered as approved if it is completely according to the manual and automatic specifics indicated by the instrument Bobby, software to check the validity produced by Watchfire, of which a version useable online is available. The motor of Bobby is based on the guidelines of accessibility, created and updated by the WAI and W3C. The automatic check up of validity by Bobby does not implicate the respect of the guidelines WAI, because the correspondence to some of them has to be valuated by a person. In case the site obtains the automatic validity and passes the last manual check, it can be considered "Examined by Bobby". In these conditions that very state is equal to the level of corresponding conformity of the guidelines for the accessibility of the contents Web of W3C.
  • All the pages of this site have obtained validity as XHTML 1.0 Strict. It exist a proper service to check validity from W3C, that determinates if a page respects the syntax XHTML.

  • The whole pages of this site are using semantic marks, for example the tag H1 indicates the Main titles.




Navigation help

  • On every page of the version navigabile the elements containing a link are marked in red both at the event "roll over" and "on-focus": the textual links get red, the buttons light up with a red frame.

  • The site was planned to give support to the navigation via tabulator (scansion) useful for everybody who needs to navigate using only one key at a time.






Images

  • All the images of the contest in this site have an own description in the attribute ALT

  • The ALT of the images containing a link describes its functionality




The visual planning

  • This site is using the sheets of stile (CSS) for the formation of the pages contents.

  • This site uses only characters with relative dimensions, compatible with the preferences specified by the user on his own browser in the option "dimension of characters".

  • If the browser is not compatible with the sheets of stile the contents of every page remain readable.

  • The site foresees the possibility of a graphical personalisation in terms of the characters dimension.

  • The site foresees the possibility to effect a personalisation of the contents in terms of complexity, easy comprehension and legibility of the texts.

  • The site foresees the possibility to decide whether to use the audio support – that is available for all the contents of the site – or not.

  • In association with contents, the site foresees the possibility to visualize a series of images to facilitate the comprehension of the text: Images PCS (one of the most spread instrument of the Communicazione Aumentativa Alternativa), or photographic images and illustrations.

  • The site navigabile is optimised for a minimum visualisation of 800x600 pixels.

  • All the multimedia contents have a textual equivalent that equally allows the fruition.

  • Lynx, a gratis textual browser, useful for the blind that have at their disposal the updateable bar Braille.
  • Links, a gratis textual browser, for the users with slow connections.

  • Bobby, a gratis web-service to check if the web pages are according to the guidelines for the accessibility. Available also in a commercial version to install in locale, with abetter functionality.

  • HTML Validator, a gratis service of the W3C to verify if the web pages publicized are According to the standard of the languages HTML and XHMTL.

  • Lynx Viewer, a gratis service to verify how the web pages appear in Lynx.
